Pool Hose Compatibility: 32 mm, 38 mm and Connection Checks

Pool hoses can look similar while doing different jobs. Before choosing a replacement, identify whether yours connects a filter system, serves a vacuum cleaner or carries discharged water. Diameter alone does not establish interchangeability.

Write down the system first

1. Pool manufacturer, full model and size.
2. Pump or cleaner model and the original hose or parts reference.
3. Hose purpose, required length and the connection at each end.
4. Whether the listing includes collars, seals, clamps or adaptors, and which parts the maker requires.

32 mm and 38 mm: read the measurement correctly

Intex identifies these as hose inner diameters. Its 10399 reference is 32 mm inside; 11010 is 38 mm inside. The outside of a fitting can be much larger. These are examples from Intex's own system, not universal cross-brand fit rules.

Intex also lists different connection kits for different pool, pump and port combinations. Use the exact model combination in its connection guide; buying a single adaptor by diameter can omit other required parts.

A vacuum hose is a different buying decision

Poolmaster's 33430 and 33435 are 1½-inch internal-diameter vacuum hoses in 30 ft and 35 ft lengths, with a swivel cuff. That description does not establish compatibility with an Intex filter-pump connection.

Before ordering

Keep a photograph of the model label and both existing hose ends beside your measurements. If the model or fitting is unclear, obtain the manufacturer's confirmation before buying. Follow the equipment manual for installation and safe shutdown; this guide is for selecting parts.
