ZeeDix Organic Coco Coir Bricks are compressed, sustainable coconut-fiber blocks that expand into a lightweight, airy growing medium ideal for potting, seed starting, and amending garden soil.
These ten compact bricks arrive ready to hydrate and expand, providing about 24 gallons of loose coco coir when fully reconstituted. Sourced from natural coconut husk fiber, the bricks are pH-balanced, low in soluble salts, and designed to offer excellent water retention while keeping roots aerated. They’re a versatile, reusable option for indoor and outdoor gardeners who want a neutral, sustainable substrate that supports healthy root systems without the mess of loose peat or heavy soils.
Each 1.4 lb compressed brick expands to roughly 2.4 gallons of fluffy coco coir after rehydration; the full 10-pack yields about 24 gallons total. Preparing the bricks is fast and simple—place them in a tub, add warm water to speed expansion, and break apart the softened material with a fork or hand rake.
Coco coir balances moisture retention with good drainage, which helps prevent both drought stress and waterlogging. Its fibrous structure promotes oxygen flow to roots, encouraging vigorous root development and improving nutrient uptake when used alone or blended with fertilizers.
Yes—coco coir is a multipurpose medium excellent for seeds, cuttings, succulents, raised beds, and amending heavy or clay soils. It holds moisture for young roots while draining excess fluid, and it mixes readily with perlite, vermiculite, compost, or garden soil to customize texture and fertility.
A 10-pack provides about 24 gallons of expanded coir, which can cover multiple pots, seed trays, or several small raised beds depending on application depth. Coconut coir is a renewable byproduct of the coconut industry, biodegradable, and a more sustainable alternative to peat, making it a favorable choice for eco-conscious gardeners.
Who is this for: ZeeDix Organic Coco Coir Bricks are ideal for hobbyists, balcony and container gardeners, nurseries, and anyone starting seeds or cuttings who wants a neutral, moisture-retentive substrate. They suit people seeking a lighter, more sustainable potting medium than traditional soils—especially useful in container gardens, grow bags, raised beds, and indoor plant collections.
Q: How much water do I need to expand one ZeeDix brick?
A: Use about 1.5–2 gallons of water per 1.4 lb brick; warm water speeds expansion.
Q: Is ZeeDix coco coir safe for seedlings and indoor plants?
A: Yes — it’s pH-balanced, low EC, and suitable for seedlings, cuttings, and indoor containers.
