Vankey Charcoal Basket for Kamado Joe JR — 304 Stainless Steel, Bowl Design for Faster Heat & Easy Ash Removal

A heavy-duty 304 stainless steel charcoal basket designed to fit Kamado Joe JR and similar kamado grills, delivering faster heat-up, improved airflow, and effortless ash removal.

Upgrade your kamado grilling with the Vankey Charcoal Basket, engineered to make lighting, controlling and cleaning your charcoal simpler and more reliable. Built from 304 stainless steel, the bowl-shaped basket stabilizes fuel, encourages balanced combustion on both sides, and lets air flow freely for more consistent temperatures. A built-in handle and ash-release design reduce fiddly cleanup so you spend less time tending the grill and more time cooking.

How does this basket improve heat-up and temperature control?

The Vankey basket’s 304 stainless construction transfers heat quickly and withstands repeated high-temperature cycles. Its curved bowl shape holds charcoal securely while permitting under-and-around airflow, so vents work more efficiently and the fire reaches target temperatures faster.

• 304 stainless steel for fast, durable heat conduction
• Bowl design prevents charcoal shifting and promotes even burn
• Permeable sides and base increase oxygen flow to coals
• Works with dome vent adjustments to fine-tune temperatures

What makes ash removal and cleanup easier?

Instead of scooping or poking at ashes, lift the entire basket by its handle and shake it over the grill’s ash pan or a suitable container. The design funnels ash downward so you can clear the firebox in seconds and be ready for the next cook.

• Integrated handle keeps hands away from hot metal
• Whole-basket lift-and-shake clears ashes quickly
• Reduces mess and contact with hot embers
• Durable finish resists warping after repeated cleanings

Will this fit my kamado or smoker grill?

The basket is shaped to fit Kamado Joe JR and Minimax Big Size Green Egg models; it is not intended for 15" charcoal grills. Measure the firebox diameter before ordering to ensure proper fit. The product is ideal for smaller kamado-style cookers that accept a compact charcoal well.

• Made for Kamado Joe JR and compatible Minimax Big Green Eggs
• Not suitable for 15-inch charcoal grill fireboxes
• Compact footprint designed for small-to-medium kamados
• Measure grill diameter to confirm compatibility

How does the basket hold up over time with heavy use?

Constructed from corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel, the basket resists high heat, discoloration, and deformation under normal grilling conditions. Proper cleaning and occasional inspection will keep it stable and performing through many cook cycles.

• 304 stainless resists rust and warping at grill temperatures
• Rugged build for repeated use and frequent high-heat cooks
• Easy to rinse or brush clean after ash removal
• Simple design minimizes weak points that fail over time

Who is this for: The Vankey Charcoal Basket is aimed at kamado owners who want faster heat-up, steadier temperature control, and a neater cleanup routine—especially owners of Kamado Joe JR and compatible Minimax Big Size Green Egg cookers. It’s a practical upgrade for backyard grillers, weekend pitmasters, and anyone who prefers the simplicity of a single, durable charcoal insert that improves airflow and ash management without modifying the grill.
