You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

This Unique Gardener starter set makes it simple to raise dramatic carnivorous plants at home. The kit packages a double-sphere glass terrarium, flytrap and sundew seed packets, a compressed germination disk, blue quartz accent stones, and clear setup instructions. It’s designed for beginners and kids who want a hands-on science project that doubles as a living conversation piece.
Very straightforward—everything you need is included except distilled water and basic patience. The compressed germination mixture expands with water, creating a light, peaty medium suited to flytraps and sundews. The glass globe provides high humidity and visibility so you can observe every stage of growth.
Both plants prefer nutrient-poor, acidic conditions and constant moisture—conditions the kit’s germination medium helps create. Use distilled water only, avoid regular fertilizing, and provide bright indirect light; occasional direct morning sun works for short periods.
Venus flytraps close their jaw-like leaves when trigger hairs are touched, while sundews use sticky tentacles to trap prey. In a terrarium, you’ll watch these behaviors develop as the plants mature; catching insects provides supplemental nutrients for growth.
Yes—this kit is designed for supervised, hands-on learning. It teaches plant biology, ecosystems, and responsibility without complicated horticultural steps. Adult supervision is recommended for seed handling and watering to ensure proper care and avoid misuse of the glass globe.
Who is this for? The Unique Gardener Grow Your Own Venus Fly Trap kit is ideal for curious kids, families, classroom projects, and adults who want a compact, low-footprint plant display with dramatic behavior. If you enjoy hands-on science, quirky houseplants, or gifting something memorable, this kit provides a complete starter package to grow two fascinating carnivorous species in an attractive glass terrarium.
Q: Do I need special water for these plants?
A: Yes. Use only distilled or rainwater—tap or spring water can harm carnivorous plants due to minerals and salts.
Q: How long until seeds sprout?
A: Germination varies, often from several days up to a few weeks depending on temperature and light conditions.
