The Sustee Aquameter set is a leave-in, refillable soil moisture sensor pack of five that visually shows when potted plants need water by changing color.
Keep houseplants thriving without guesswork using these compact, maintenance-free moisture sticks. Designed in Japan with input from Tokyo University of Agriculture, each green Sustee stick is made to remain in the pot full-time and indicate soil moisture with a simple color change—white for dry, blue for wet. The medium size fits 3.5–6 inch pots and each refillable core lasts roughly 6–9 months, helping you avoid overwatering and frequent manual checks.
The stick contains a hygroscopic core that changes color according to the moisture level in the surrounding soil. Instead of reading numbers, you get an immediate visual cue: white means the soil is dry enough to need watering, while blue means there is sufficient moisture.
The medium Sustee Aquameter measures 7.09 x 0.39 x 0.31 inches and is sized for pots roughly 3.5 to 6 inches across. Each stick comes with a refillable core expected to last about 6–9 months depending on conditions, and the set includes five sticks so you can equip multiple plants or have spares on hand.
No batteries, no electronics, and minimal upkeep—the design is maintenance-free and intended to stay in the soil. If a core is spent, replace it rather than the whole stick; the lightweight construction simplifies cleaning and long-term use.
Sustee’s design was refined with Tokyo University of Agriculture to provide dependable visual readings across common potting mixes. While any passive sensor has limits versus laboratory tools, the Aquameter gives practical, consistent cues that match typical indoor plant watering needs.
Who is this for: The Sustee Aquameter set of five suits home gardeners, busy plant owners, and gift givers who want an easy, low-effort way to manage watering for small to medium potted plants. It’s especially useful if you care for several pots, prefer hands-free monitoring, or want a refillable, award-winning design made in Japan that reduces the guesswork in indoor plant care.
Q: Can I leave the Sustee Aquameter in soil permanently?
A: Yes. The Sustee is designed to stay in the soil full-time for continuous visual moisture monitoring.
Q: How often should I replace the core?
A: Replace the refillable core every 6–9 months on average, depending on plant and soil conditions.
