SJZ SUN RUN Solar Extension Cable 10AWG 50FT — Red & Black Pair with IP68 Waterproof Connectors

SJZ SUN RUN 10AWG solar extension cable is a 50-foot, 6mm² (10 AWG) PV wire set with male and female IP68 waterproof connectors designed for reliable outdoor photovoltaic, RV, marine, and off-grid wiring.

This heavy-duty solar extension kit pairs a red and a black 50 ft 10 AWG cable with durable, weatherproof male and female connectors to extend, repair, or reconfigure solar arrays and DC circuits. Built from tinned, multi-stranded copper with an XLPE/XLPO outer jacket and corrosion-resistant connector housings, it’s engineered for long-term outdoor exposure, high current capacity, and straightforward installation.

How much current and voltage can these 10 AWG solar cables safely handle?

The SJZ SUN RUN 10 AWG wires are rated for high DC voltage and substantial current, making them suitable for many residential and mobile systems. They meet common PV standards and operate across a wide temperature range.

• Rated voltage: up to 1000V AC / 1800V DC per product specs.
• Rated current: approximately 70A for typical DC runs with correct installation.
• Conductor resistance: ≤3.39 Ω/km at 20°C, providing efficient power transfer.
• Temperature range: −40°C to 120°C for reliable outdoor performance.

What materials and construction make this cable weatherproof and durable?

Durability comes from both the conductor and the jacket. The cable uses many fine tinned copper strands and an irradiated XLPE/XLPO outer sheath that resists UV, chemicals, moisture, and heat.

• Conductor: 84 strands of 0.285 mm tinned oxygen-free copper for corrosion resistance and solderability.
• Insulation: PPO connector insulation and XLPE/XLPO jacket resist wear, flames, acid, and alkali.
• UV treatment: irradiation process for UV resistance — optimal for long-term sunlight exposure.
• Connector protection: IP68-rated male and female housings seal against water and dust.

How easy is installation and what accessories are included?

The set is designed for straightforward, tool-based installation: peel, cut, and crimp or solder as needed. SJZ SUN RUN supplies two matched 50 ft runs (red and black) plus connector pairs and cable ties to simplify routing and securing the lines.

• Includes: one 50 ft red and one 50 ft black 10 AWG cable plus two pairs of male/female connectors.
• Connector type: Multi-Contact-compatible connectors with PPO insulation for corrosion resistance.
• Extras: UV-resistant cable ties included for neat, weatherproof routing.
• Manufacturing: machine-inspected for conductor diameter consistency and low tolerance.

Will these cables work for boats, RVs, and inverter-to-panel runs?

Yes — the cable’s combination of current capacity, corrosion resistance, and UV-treated outer jacket makes it a versatile choice across mobile and stationary applications. It’s suitable for solar panels, inverter DC connections, marine and RV power circuits, and other low-voltage DC uses.

• Common uses: solar panel extensions, inverter DC wiring, battery-to-charge controller leads.
• Mobile use: tinned strands resist salt corrosion for marine and coastal installations.
• Flexibility: robust yet solderable conductor; consider standard wiring where extra flexibility is needed in tight, shaded spaces.
• Certifications: CE EN50618:2014 compliant, with TUV H1Z2Z2-K testing noted.

Who this is for: installers, RV owners, boaters, small-scale solar DIYers, and electricians who need a heavy-gauge, weatherproof extension cable with matched color runs and IP68 connectors. Choose this kit when you require a reliable 10 AWG PV connection rated for high current and outdoor exposure; if you need very flexible wire for cramped indoor wiring not exposed to UV, consider a different, more pliable conductor.
