Sandbaggy Drip Tubing Stakes are purpose-built 5-inch, 14-gauge galvanized steel anchors that secure 1/8" and 1/4" drip irrigation tubing to keep lines neat, stable, and properly positioned in gardens and landscapes.
When installing or maintaining a drip irrigation system, small tubing can shift, kink, or float above soil if it isn’t anchored correctly. These stakes were designed to work with thin drip lines and soaker setups, offering a narrow rounded top that seats the tubing without crushing it. Sold in a 200-count pack, the stakes are suitable for new installs or routine maintenance across beds, borders, containers, and raised planters.
The Sandbaggy stakes have a rounded, narrow top shaped to sit over 1/8" and 1/4" tubing, unlike wide, flat staples that can allow lines to move or get pinched. The single-prong design reduces soil displacement and makes insertion quicker, especially in compacted beds. Galvanized 14-gauge steel provides a balance of rigidity and corrosion resistance for outdoor use.
Yes — they’re intended for 1/8" and 1/4" drip tubing commonly used in micro-irrigation and emitter lines. The rounded head fits small-diameter tubing without compressing it, and the length accommodates most shallow- to medium-depth planting zones. They are not designed for bulkier soaker hoses or heavy mainlines, which require heavier anchors.
Constructed from 14-gauge galvanized steel, these stakes offer improved resistance to rust and outdoor wear compared with uncoated staples. Galvanization slows corrosion but does not make the stakes impervious to long-term weathering; the expected lifespan depends on soil chemistry and climate. For coastal or extremely acidic soils, periodic inspection and replacement may be advisable.
Installation is straightforward: position the tubing, press the rounded top over the line, and push the single prong into the soil until the tubular is snug. For compacted ground, pre-loosen the soil or use a light pilot hole to avoid bending. Space stakes where tubing turns, near emitters, and at intervals along long runs for the best stability.
Who is this product for? Gardeners, landscapers, and property owners who use drip irrigation for beds, containers, or raised gardens and want a tidy, reliable way to anchor thin tubing will value the Sandbaggy stakes. They’re helpful for DIY irrigation installs, seasonal planting projects, hobby vegetable plots, and professional maintenance crews who need a large quantity of purpose-designed anchors. If you require anchors for heavy-duty hoses or mainlines, choose a heavier pin; otherwise these stakes offer an efficient, low-cost way to keep micro-irrigation organized and performing as intended.
Q: Are these stakes compatible with 1/8" drip tubing?
A: Yes. The rounded top and 5" length are designed to securely hold 1/8" and 1/4" drip tubing without crushing it.
Q: How many stakes should I use per foot of tubing?
A: Use a stake every 12–24 inches, and place one at each turn or emitter for best stability.
