These are 6-inch galvanized spiral turf stakes from Sandbaggy, heavy-duty 7-gauge steel pins designed to anchor artificial grass, weed barrier fabric, edging, and landscape materials without bending or popping loose.
If you’re installing synthetic turf, laying landscape fabric, or securing edging in firm or rocky ground, the right fastener makes the job faster and more durable. Sandbaggy’s 6" spiral turf stakes are built thicker than many competing nails and shaped to resist withdrawal, giving contractors and DIYers a reliable anchor for long-term installations.
The 7-gauge steel construction is about 10% thicker than many turf nails, so these stakes resist bending when driven into compacted or rocky soil. The spiral shaft cuts into the ground and creates friction, which prevents the stakes from backing out under foot traffic or freeze-thaw cycles.
Yes—plastic stakes can crack and metal U-staples often bend or flex, especially in dense ground. Sandbaggy’s steel spiral stakes combine the rigidity of metal with a design that seats into the soil cleanly, offering a lower profile once installed and fewer exposed edges.
Installation is straightforward: position the turf or fabric, align the stake, and drive it flush into the ground using a hammer. Use stakes every 6–12 inches along edges or seams for turf; adjust spacing for lighter materials like weed barrier fabric or landscape edging.
Each stake measures 6 inches long with a 3/16" (7-gauge) shaft and a 5/16" head diameter. The smooth galvanized finish reduces exposed sharp edges after installation and helps prevent rust. As with any grounding fastener, use a mallet or hammer with controlled strikes and keep hands clear while driving into the soil.
Who is this for? Landscapers, turf installers, and homeowners installing artificial grass or securing landscaping materials will appreciate these Sandbaggy stakes. They’re especially useful when working with firm, rocky, or compacted soils where weaker fasteners fail—offering a contractor-grade solution that keeps installations neat and secure without constant readjustment.
Q: Are these stakes suitable for rocky or compacted ground?
A: Yes. The 7-gauge steel and spiral design are built to penetrate firm and rocky soils without bending.
Q: How many stakes do I need for a turf seam or perimeter?
A: Use stakes every 6–12 inches along seams and edges; a 200-pack covers several seams or a medium-sized yard.
