Praher's 2" single-union ball valve (SKT x SKT, model 200-010) is a durable Grade 1 PVC union valve designed for solvent-weld installation, offering reliable 150 PSI performance and a secure pinned retainer-ring for safe disassembly.
This compact union ball valve is built for systems that require solvent-socket connections and occasional line separation without sacrificing pressure capacity. Constructed from Grade 1 PVC with EPDM/Nitrile O-rings and polyethylene ball seats, the 200-010 balances chemical resistance, low friction, and long life in irrigation, pool, water treatment, and light industrial piping. Its retainer-ring is locked with two pins to prevent unintentional movement while still allowing intentional disassembly when needed.
The socket ends are intended for solvent-weld (cement) joints, which create a smooth, continuous bore and eliminate threaded leak paths. That makes the valve faster to install for technicians who prefer welding PVC systems and maintains the Schedule 80 bore alignment for predictable flow. No threads means fewer sealing materials and a cleaner external appearance.
The body is Grade 1 PVC, chosen for strength and chemical resistance; EPDM or Nitrile O-rings are used depending on application needs; and polyethylene seats reduce wear against the ball. Together these materials minimize leaks, resist common pool and irrigation chemicals, and lower friction for smoother operation over time. The combination supports a 150 PSI working pressure rating when installed correctly.
The 200-010 is engineered so the retainer-ring cannot shift during normal operations: two locking pins secure it in place. This prevents the ball or ring from moving accidentally when disconnecting lines, reducing the risk of component loss or damage. When intentional disassembly is required, the locked retainer-ring can be removed in a controlled manner by qualified personnel.
This valve is frequently used in irrigation, swimming pool systems, aquaculture, water treatment, and many light industrial PVC piping applications that use solvent-weld connections. It's not intended for threaded systems or high-temperature steam service; compatibility with specific chemicals should be checked against material data. Always follow local codes and installation best practices for pressure and temperature limits.
Who is this for: The Praher 2" single union ball valve 200-010 is designed for contractors, system integrators, and maintenance teams who prefer solvent-socket PVC systems and need a robust, serviceable valve rated to 150 PSI. Choose this model when you want a Schedule 80 bore, reliable O-ring materials (EPDM or Nitrile), and a pinned retainer-ring to reduce risk during planned disassembly. If your project uses threaded connections or requires exotic material compatibility, consider alternate fittings or consult product specifications before ordering.
Q: What pressure can the Praher 200-010 ball valve handle?
A: The valve is rated for 150 PSI when installed per manufacturer guidelines and within temperature limits.
Q: Can I use this valve in threaded PVC systems?
A: No—this model has SKT x SKT socket ends for solvent welding and is not compatible with threaded fittings.
