If you need a durable, easy-to-fit chain for a 24" bar, this Oregon AdvanceCut D81 was engineered for homeowners and landscaping pros who cut firewood, prune large limbs, or clear small trees. It balances aggressive cutting speed from full chisel cutters with features that reduce wear and maintenance: a chrome outer layer, hardened rivets, and Oregon's Lubri-Tec oiling system. The chain meets ANSI B175.1-2012 kickback performance requirements and fits many popular saws in the 50–100 cc range.
This chain is built for 24" guide bars that accept a 3/8" pitch and .050" gauge chain, with 81 drive links. It works on a wide range of models from several manufacturers; always verify the part stamped on your old drive link or your owner's manual before ordering. Using the correct pitch, gauge and drive link count avoids fitment problems and keeps lubrication and tension working properly.
Oregon combined durable materials and an improved oiling design to cut downtime. A chrome-plated outer layer and hardened rivets resist wear, while Lubri-Tec actively delivers oil to the guide bar and links, slowing friction-related damage. The semi-chisel heat-treated cutters tolerate debris better than full chisel in dirty jobs, and they still deliver fast cutting.
The AdvanceCut D81 uses full and semi-chisel cutter geometry to clear wood quickly while maintaining consistent control. It's optimized for general-purpose work—limbs, firewood, and small felled trees—delivering rapid bite without forcing frequent reshaping. For heavy professional logging you may still prefer specialist chains, but this Oregon chain handles typical homeowner and landscaper tasks reliably.
Match three measurements: pitch (distance between rivets), gauge (drive link thickness), and drive link count for your bar length. The most reliable check is the number stamped on the drive link of your old chain or the specification in your owner's manual. Following Oregon’s fitting guide ensures the chain seats properly and your saw’s automatic oiler and tensioner work as intended.
Who is this chain for? The Oregon AdvanceCut D81 is aimed at homeowners, property managers, and landscaping professionals who want a robust, low-maintenance replacement chain for a 24" bar. If you run a compatible saw in the 50–100 cc range and need a reliable, ANSI-compliant chain that delivers strong cutting performance with longer intervals between adjustments, this is a practical choice. For professional loggers doing continuous high-volume felling, consider specialist chains tuned to that workload; otherwise, the AdvanceCut D81 provides an excellent blend of durability, speed, and service life.
Q: Will this chain fit my 24-inch bar?
A: If your bar accepts 3/8" pitch and .050" gauge with 81 drive links, yes—confirm the drive link stamping or your owner’s manual before ordering.
Q: Does this chain reduce the need for frequent sharpening?
A: The chrome finish and heat-treated cutters resist wear, so sharpening intervals are longer than untreated chains, but routine sharpening is still required with heavy use.
