Okatsune No. 104 pruning shears are precise 8.3-inch bypass secateurs built with high-grade knife steel blades and carbon-steel handles for long-lasting garden cutting performance.
These Okatsune pruning shears (model No. 104) pair a finely ground blade with a robust carbon-steel handle and an olefin-patterned covering to deliver reliable, low-resistance cuts for shaping, trimming, and routine pruning. At 210 mm overall length, they balance control and reach for shrubs, roses, and light woody stems where accuracy and durability matter. The design emphasizes a sharp edge and sturdy construction while keeping the tool compact enough for everyday gardening tasks.
The blade is crafted from high-grade knife steel and finished to hold a keen edge that slices rather than crushes tissue. A precise bypass action lets the sharp blade pass closely by the opposing surface, creating cleaner cuts that promote faster plant recovery and neater pruning lines.
The handle is made from carbon steel engineered to withstand repeated use without bending or fatigue. An olefin-patterned covering adds grip and a protective barrier against wear and weather, so the tool stays comfortable and dependable season after season.
Okatsune tools are designed for straightforward upkeep: the blade profile allows routine honing with a fine file or sharpening stone, and the simple assembly makes cleaning debris quick. Regular wiping, occasional lubrication of pivot points, and sharpening keep performance consistent over time.
At 210 mm, the No. 104 is ideal for trimming flowers, cutting back small shoots and young branches, and precision shaping of ornamental plants. It’s not intended for very thick branches—use loppers or saws for heavy wood—but excels where dexterity and clean cuts are priority.
Who is this for: Gardeners who value a compact, dependable pruning tool for everyday trimming and shaping—home gardeners, hobbyists, and anyone who needs a sharp, durable pair of shears for detailed work. The Okatsune No. 104 offers a balance of control, blade quality, and ergonomic construction for routine pruning tasks without the bulk of larger tools.
Q: What maximum branch thickness can these shears cut?
A: Best for stems and small branches up to about 15 mm; use loppers for thicker wood.
Q: Can I sharpen the blade myself?
A: Yes—use a fine file or sharpening stone and follow the blade angle for best results.
