Neogen Prozap Backrubber & Pour-On is a ready-to-use, blue topical insecticide designed for application directly or via back rubbers to protect beef and dairy cattle and swine from flies, mosquitoes, ticks, and lice.
Formulated for convenient on-farm use, this 2.5-gallon container comes pre-mixed so it can be poured or applied with livestock back rub systems without dilution. The synergized formula combines 0.125% permethrin with 0.125% piperonyl butoxide (PBO) to enhance efficacy against a broad spectrum of external pests. It's compatible with NEOGEN's Prozap bovi-rubs and intended for routine control where external parasites compromise animal comfort and farm biosecurity.
You can apply the solution directly by pouring it onto designated areas of the animal's back or by using compatible back rub devices that transfer product as animals pass through. Application is simple because the product is ready to use — no mixing is required — and can be integrated into established handling routines.
This product is labeled for beef cattle, dairy cattle (including lactating animals), and swine. It targets common external parasites that affect livestock comfort and herd performance, including various species of flies, mosquitoes, ticks, and lice.
The formulation contains 0.125% permethrin combined with 0.125% piperonyl butoxide (PBO), a synergist that enhances the insecticidal action. Follow label directions for application rates, personal protective equipment, and livestock handling to ensure safe and effective use.
Use as a regular topical treatment in rotation with other control measures such as environmental sanitation, traps, and pasture management. Integrating treatments reduces pest pressure and supports animal welfare without relying on a single control tactic.
Who is this for: Neogen Prozap Backrubber & Pour-On is intended for commercial and small-scale livestock producers seeking a convenient, pre-mixed topical insecticide for cattle and swine. It suits operations that use back rub stations or prefer pour-on treatments and those aiming to integrate topical control into broader herd health and pest management programs. Always read and follow the product label and local regulations before use.
Q: Can I use this product on lactating dairy cows?
A: Yes. The label permits use on lactating and non-lactating dairy cattle when applied according to directions.
Q: Is dilution required before applying?
A: No. This product is ready to use and does not require dilution prior to pour-on or back rub application.
