This lightweight yet sturdy galvanized chicken wire combines corrosion-resistant coating with a double-direction hexagonal twist to stay flat and trim cleanly. Designed for gardeners, homeowners, and small-farm operators, the roll balances strength and flexibility so you can build temporary or semi-permanent barriers, protect beds from pests, and construct runs or cages with minimal tools.
The 20-gauge steel core is hot-dip galvanized before packing, giving it a protective zinc layer that helps resist rust and weathering in typical outdoor conditions. While no metal lasts forever outdoors, this netting is made to extend service life compared with untreated wire.
This product is supplied as a 12-inch-wide roll that stretches 150 feet in length, with each hexagonal opening measuring roughly 2" across. The compact width is convenient for trimmed edges, layering, or using multiple strips to reach taller heights.
The netting is intentionally lightweight and flat, allowing you to cut and shape it with wire cutters or tin snips and fasten it with staples, fencing clips, or ties. Its flexibility makes it suitable for wrapping around irregular shapes, forming cages, or reinforcing posts without heavy-duty tools.
The 2" mesh is effective at containing chickens and larger poultry, keeping pets from escaping, and deterring larger garden pests. It is not a barrier for very small rodents by itself, so combine it with finer mesh or use at ground level to deter burrowing.
Who is this for? MTB Supply's 20GA galvanized hexagonal poultry netting suits weekend gardeners, homesteaders, small-farm owners, and DIYers who need a reliable, easy-to-handle fencing material. If you want corrosion-resistant wire that trims cleanly, bends to shape, and covers a long run without the weight of heavier welded fencing, this roll gives a practical balance of durability, economy, and versatility.
Q: Is this chicken wire suitable for keeping out small rodents?
A: No—2" mesh won’t stop mice or voles. Use this for poultry and larger pests, and add finer hardware cloth at the base to block small rodents.
Q: Can I use a staple gun to attach this netting to wooden posts?
A: Yes—staples or fencing U-clips work well for wood posts; for longer spans, pair with ties or additional fasteners for stability.
