MDPQT 30 QT Professional Grade Horticultural Vermiculite is a lightweight, porous soil amendment that improves drainage, aeration, and moisture retention for healthier containers, seed starts, and garden beds.
Designed for gardeners, landscapers, and indoor plant enthusiasts, this high-end vermiculite blends into potting mixes or native soils to reduce compaction while keeping roots comfortably aerated. Unlike heavy soil additives, MDPQT vermiculite adds structure without weighing roots down, making it especially useful for seed germination, transplant mixes, and moisture-balanced containers.
Vermiculite's natural plate-like particles hold both air and water, creating a balance that prevents drowning or prolonged dryness at the root zone. It keeps soil light and porous so roots can access oxygen while still receiving moisture between waterings.
Use MDPQT vermiculite whenever you need improved moisture regulation and lighter growing media: in seed trays, container gardens, raised beds, and houseplant repots. It blends well with peat, coconut coir, compost, or topsoil and is especially helpful for small pots and delicate seedlings.
Expect easier watering routines and fewer compacted pots: vermiculite helps excess water drain away from roots while retaining enough moisture to reduce frequent watering. Plants often show steadier growth and less stress from water fluctuation when grown in amended media.
The 30 QT sack is convenient for home gardeners and small professionals; keep it dry and sealed between uses. Use gloves and a dust mask when mixing large amounts to avoid irritation from fine particles.
Who is this for: MDPQT 30 QT Professional Grade Horticultural Vermiculite is aimed at hobby gardeners, community growers, landscapers, and indoor plant keepers who want a reliable soil additive that improves drainage and moisture balance without adding weight. It suits anyone seeding flats, repotting houseplants, building custom potting mixes, or improving heavy garden soils.
Q: Is this vermiculite safe for seedlings and houseplants?
A: Yes. MDPQT vermiculite is suitable for seed starting and container plants to improve moisture retention and aeration.
Q: How much vermiculite should I add to potting mix?
A: Mix 10–30% vermiculite into potting media; use higher amounts for seed starting and smaller containers.
