MDPQT 20 QT Professional Grade Horticultural Organic Perlite is a lightweight, porous soil amendment that improves drainage, aeration, and root health for potted plants and garden beds.
MDPQT perlite is a high-end horticultural product formulated for gardeners, growers, and plant hobbyists who need reliable soil structure without added weight. Sourced and processed to horticultural standards, this 20-quart bag delivers consistent particle size and high porosity to reduce compaction and help manage moisture. It mixes easily into potting soil, seed-starting mixes, and raised bed blends to create an airier medium that supports vigorous root systems and more uniform watering.
Perlite’s glassy, irregular particles create open channels in the soil that allow excess water to escape and air to circulate. That porosity reduces waterlogging and helps roots avoid oxygen deprivation, while still holding some moisture for plant use.
MDPQT perlite is versatile: mix it into potting soil, blend into seed-starting mixes, or add to garden beds to improve texture. It’s suitable for succulents, vegetables, ornamental plants, and container-grown trees where good drainage and root aeration matter.
The professional grade formulation is designed to be long-lasting and resistant to breakdown, so it maintains porosity over multiple seasons. The 20-quart size is manageable for transport and storage while providing enough material for several pots or a small bed amendment.
Perlite and vermiculite each change soil properties differently: perlite enhances drainage and aeration, while vermiculite retains more moisture and nutrients. Use perlite when you need faster drainage and improved oxygen flow; choose vermiculite when extra water retention is desirable.
Who this is for: MDPQT 20 QT Professional Grade Horticultural Perlite is ideal for indoor gardeners, balcony or patio growers, vegetable gardeners, and nursery professionals seeking a reliable, light-weight soil amendment. If you want faster drainage, reduced compaction, and improved root aeration without adding bulk, this perlite offers a consistent, professional-grade option for mixing into potting media, amending heavy soils, or improving seed and cutting propagation mixes.
Q: How much perlite should I add to potting mix?
A: Mix 10–30% perlite by volume into potting soil—adjust for plant type and drainage needs.
Q: Is MDPQT perlite safe for succulents and seedlings?
A: Yes. Its lightweight, porous particles improve drainage and air flow for succulents and seedlings.
