Gymgit 50 Pack mushroom grow bags are heavy-duty, autoclavable polypropylene substrate bags with a 0.2-micron filter that hold large fruiting blocks and reduce contamination risk during sterilization and incubation.
These 8" × 5" × 20" Gymgit bags are designed for growers who need a durable, reliable container for sawdust, grain or bulk substrate. Built from 0.08mm (3 mil) food-grade polypropylene, they withstand high-temperature sterilization cycles and repeated handling. The gusseted, self-standing form and reinforced heat-sealed bottom make filling and transporting easier, while a fine 0.2-micron filter patch supports gas exchange without inviting common contaminants.
The bags use thicker polypropylene and a fine filter to maintain integrity through pressure-cooker or autoclave cycles. Thicker material reduces punctures and micro-tears, and the 0.2-micron filter helps block spores and microbes while allowing CO₂ outgassing.
Each Gymgit bag accepts approximately 2–2.5 kg (4.4–5.5 lbs) of substrate, making them suitable for large sawdust fruiting blocks or multi-bag grain runs. The gusseted base expands to accommodate bulky mixes and creates a stable, upright container during inoculation and incubation.
Yes — the material and seals are specified for both household pressure cookers and commercial autoclaves. They’re rated for standard sterilization parameters used in mushroom cultivation, allowing repeatable results across small and large setups.
The bags’ self-standing, gusseted base and reinforced bottom let you fill, seal, and inoculate with fewer spills and more control. The thick film reduces punctures during handling, and the clear surface lets you visually monitor mycelial colonization without opening the bag.
Who is this for: Growers who need robust, large-capacity substrate bags — from beginners running small home projects to commercial cultivators scaling production. These Gymgit bags are especially useful for anyone preparing sawdust fruiting blocks, bulk substrate fills, or multi-bag incubation batches and who values autoclavable durability, finer filtration, and easier handling during sterile procedures.
Q: Can Gymgit bags be autoclaved in a home pressure cooker?
A: Yes. They are autoclavable up to 121°C (250°F) at 15 PSI and handle typical 90–120 minute home pressure-cooker cycles.
Q: How much substrate does each 8×5×20 bag hold?
A: Each bag holds roughly 2–2.5 kg (4.4–5.5 lbs) of substrate, suitable for large sawdust fruiting blocks.
