You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

The Generac 6853 HomeLink upgradeable 30 amp manual transfer switch kit provides a safe, pre-wired way to power hard-wired home circuits during an outage and can be converted later for automatic generator use.
The HomeLink 6853 is a compact, wall-mounted transfer switch system installed beside your main service panel that routes generator power to selected household circuits. Pre-wired for convenience, it replaces the need for multiple extension cords and gives straightforward control of essential loads like furnaces, well pumps, and lighting. With an included 10' cord and a resin power inlet box, the kit is designed for straightforward connection to portable generators now and a smooth upgrade path to an automatic standby generator later.
When your utility power fails, the HomeLink manual transfer switch isolates and redirects generator power to designated hard-wired circuits so selected appliances continue operating safely. It prevents backfeed to utility lines and lets you control which loads receive generator power.
Yes — the 6853 HomeLink was created with future upgrades in mind. When you decide to install an automatic standby generator, a licensed electrician swaps the manual panel for the automatic upgrade panel and new faceplate, making the existing wiring compatible with a standby system up to 11 kW.
Generac supplies the HomeLink as a pre-wired kit meant to be installed adjacent to your main circuit panel by a qualified electrician. Built-in safety features include circuit isolation to prevent backfeeding, and visible power source indicators so you know whether utility or generator power is active.
The HomeLink 6853 is shipped pre-wired for eight circuits and can be expanded to ten circuits to cover more circuits as needs grow. It’s ideal for prioritizing hard-wired, safety-related, and high-importance loads rather than powering an entire home simultaneously.
Who is this for: The Generac 6853 HomeLink transfer switch kit is a fit for homeowners who want an organized, code-compliant way to power essential hard-wired circuits during outages and who may plan to upgrade to an automatic standby generator later. It’s especially useful for residences relying on well pumps, central heating, or critical refrigeration, and for anyone who prefers a clean, permanent connection over temporary extension cords. Have a licensed electrician handle installation and any future automatic upgrade to ensure safe, reliable operation.
Q: Is the Generac 6853 compatible with automatic standby generators?
A: Yes. A certified electrician can swap the manual panel for an automatic upgrade panel to connect to an automatic standby generator up to 11 kW.
Q: How many circuits does the HomeLink 6853 support?
A: It ships pre-wired for 8 circuits and can be expanded to 10 circuits, accepting standard, tandem, GFCI, and arc-fault breakers.
