These are precision Japanese-made harvesting shears that use a magnetic, springless mechanism and an ultra-fine angled tip for accurate, low-fatigue trimming and delicate harvests.
forest Originals Saboten shears combine traditional Japanese blade-making with a modern magnetic “springless” action to deliver clean cuts, repeatable control, and easy maintenance. Lightweight and balanced, they’re designed for gardeners, florists, bonsai hobbyists, and anyone who needs sharp, dependable snips for small stems, herbs, flowers, and propagation work.
The built-in magnets reopen the blades without a coiled metal spring, creating a smooth, consistent motion and eliminating spring fatigue or wobble over time. Users report steadier cutting rhythm and reduced hand strain during long sessions.
The slim, angled fine tip slips into tight leaf axils and between crowded stems so you can make precise cuts without disturbing surrounding growth. It’s ideal for tasks that need accuracy rather than brute force.
The fluorine coating reduces sap and resin adhesion, so sticky buildup wipes away more easily and the blade stays functional longer between cleanings. The underlying heat-treated Japanese stainless steel keeps a sharp edge for crisp, non-crushing cuts.
Ergonomic, non-slip handles with shock-absorbing material reduce pressure on hands and wrists while a built-in safety lock secures the blades when stored. A laser-etched measuring scale on the blade helps make repeatable cuts to specified lengths.
Who is this for? If you do detailed plant work—bonsai shaping, herb and flower harvesting, propagation cuttings, or any task that needs a delicate, precise blade—these shears are designed for you. They are not intended as a substitute for heavy loppers on thick woody branches; instead, they excel where control, accuracy, and low hand strain matter most. Crafted in Japan and built for frequent, careful use, the Saboten shears fit neatly in a gardener’s toolkit, florist’s bench, or plant-care drawer.
Q: Are these shears suitable for woody branches?
A: No—these fine-tip shears are optimized for small stems, herbs, flowers, and precision pruning; use heavier pruners for thick woody branches.
Q: How do I clean sap from the fluorine-coated blade?
A: Wipe with a soft cloth and mild solvent if needed; the fluorine coating reduces sticky buildup and makes cleaning quick.
