Espoma Organic Bone Meal Fertilizer 4-12-0 is a slow-release, all-natural source of phosphorus and nitrogen designed to feed bulbs and flowering plants safely in organic gardens.
This two-pack of 4 lb bags provides gardeners with a plant food made from finely ground bone meal that supplies available phosphorus to support root development and bloom formation while contributing modest nitrogen for steady growth. The product is formulated for organic gardening and blends easily into planting holes or topsoil. It’s intended for use with bulbs, perennials, and other flowering plants where phosphorus helps encourage stronger roots and flower production without synthetic additives.
Use bone meal at planting or as a top dressing to give roots and developing buds a steady supply of phosphorus. Mix a measured amount into the bottom of the planting hole or sprinkle around established plants and gently work it into the top soil surface.
The 4-12-0 label means the fertilizer provides a moderate amount of nitrogen and a higher amount of phosphorus relative to potassium. This balance supports root development and bloom formation while providing enough nitrogen for healthy foliage without forcing excessive leafy growth.
Yes — Espoma Organic Bone Meal is made from natural bone and is allowed in organic systems where animal-derived inputs are permitted. It’s free of synthetic fertilizers and designed to be gentle on bulbs and flowering ornamentals when used as directed.
Who is this product for? Espoma Organic Bone Meal Fertilizer 4-12-0 is aimed at home gardeners, bulb enthusiasts, and hobby landscapers who want an organic, phosphorus-rich amendment to encourage root growth and flowering. Choose this two-pack if you plant multiple beds, put in bulbs each season, or prefer stocking up on a slow-release organic plant food that mixes easily into soil at planting time. If your soil test shows low potassium, consider pairing this bone meal with a balanced organic fertilizer to meet all nutrient needs.
