The CNZ CUV-136 is a 36-watt ultraviolet clarifier that reduces suspended green water and helps maintain clear pond and aquarium conditions for systems up to 8,000 gallons.
Algae blooms and microscopic suspended particles turn healthy water tea-green and reduce visibility. The CNZ CUV-136 fits into existing filtration setups or new builds to help control free-floating algae and improve overall water clarity without disrupting pumps or filters. Compact and versatile, this clarifier is engineered for easy plumbing connections, flexible mounting, and straightforward bulb replacement to keep outdoor and indoor water features looking their best.
Ultraviolet clarification uses UVC light to neutralize microscopic algae and pathogens that remain suspended and cause green water. Water flows past the lamp inside the unit so organisms are exposed to the light, which helps them clump and be removed by your mechanical or biological filter.
The unit connects to common pump and tubing sizes and can be positioned to suit your layout. CNZ designed the housing with multiple inlet/outlet sizes and a slim format so it fits beside filters, under benches, or inside pump shelters.
Routine upkeep is simple: replace the UVC bulb periodically and keep the exterior clean and shaded for longevity. The included transformer cord is weather-resistant, but the unit itself should not sit in direct sunlight continuously to avoid premature wear.
The clarifier is intended to work alongside mechanical and biological filtration: it improves water clarity while your filter removes the clumped particles. It’s suitable for both retrofit and new installations where space or plumbing routes are limited.
Who this is for: The CNZ CUV-136 is aimed at hobbyists and landscapers who want a straightforward, space-saving UV clarifier to control green water in ponds and larger aquaria up to 8,000 gallons. Choose this unit if you need a reliable inline UVC device with universal plumbing fittings, easy mounting options, and a replaceable 36W bulb for seasonal maintenance. It’s a practical addition to filtration systems that need improved clarity without major plumbing changes.
Q: What pond size can the CUV-136 handle?
A: The CUV-136 is rated to clarify ponds and aquariums up to about 8,000 gallons under typical conditions.
Q: How often should I replace the bulb?
A: Replace the 2G11 36W bulb every 6–11 months for consistent performance; rated life is about 8,000 hours.
