BYANE's 18-inch carbide-tipped chainsaw chain is a heavy-duty replacement chain built for .325" pitch, .050" gauge bars with 72 drive links, engineered to stay sharp far longer than standard steel chains.
If you need a replacement chain that endures abrasive or frozen wood and keeps cutting performance steady through extended jobs, this BYANE carbide chain is designed for that workload. Its precision-brazed carbide tips and hardened rivets give lasting edge retention, while the low-kickback cutter geometry improves control during demanding cuts. Before installation, confirm your saw’s bar specifications (.325" pitch, .050" gauge, 72 drive links) to ensure a correct fit and safe operation.
This chain uses tungsten-carbide-tipped cutters brazed to chrome-plated leads, which resist dulling far longer than steel. The result is extended cutting life and fewer changeouts on abrasive jobs. Note that carbide is harder but more brittle, so sharpening and handling differ from steel chains.
Because the cutters are carbide, they must be sharpened with a diamond-coated sharpener sized 3/16" (4.8mm). Standard steel files will not effectively restore the carbide edge. Routine inspection for chips or fractures after strikes with metal or rock is essential to maintain safe cutting performance.
This 18" .325"/.050" chain with 72 drive links is a precision replacement for many consumer and professional saws, including select Husqvarna and Echo models and some Makita and Homelite saws. It is optimized for abuse-prone conditions such as sand-laden logs, frozen hardwood, and debris-filled cuts where standard chains quickly wear out.
Who should choose this BYANE chain? If you are a professional arborist, land-clearing contractor, or a homeowner who frequently cuts abrasive or debris-filled wood, this carbide-tipped chain reduces downtime and replacement frequency. It’s not suited for work where the chain will hit metal, fences, nails, or rock—those impacts can chip the carbide tips. For maximum lifespan, pair it with correct bar matching, proper lubrication, careful use, and diamond sharpening tools.
Q: Can this chain be sharpened with a normal file?
A: No. Use a 3/16" (4.8mm) diamond-coated sharpener—standard steel files won't restore carbide tips.
Q: Is this chain safe to use on wood with nails or wire?
A: No. Carbide tips can chip or shatter on metal; avoid cutting wood containing nails, wire, or rocks.
