These single-use LDH dipsticks provide a practical, affordable way for dairy farmers and herd managers to screen individual quarters or whole-cow milk for signs of subclinical mastitis without sending samples to a lab. Designed for on-farm use, the strips respond to increased LDH enzyme activity—an established biochemical marker that often rises when udder cells are compromised—so you can prioritize cows for follow-up diagnostics or treatment decisions.
Each Bartovation LDH strip delivers a visible reaction within minutes, enabling same-day decisions at the parlor or in the barn. The readout is straightforward and designed for rapid interpretation by farm staff.
An elevated LDH signal indicates increased enzyme activity in milk, which commonly correlates with udder tissue stress or infection. It flags cows that need closer monitoring, SCC testing, or veterinary assessment, enabling earlier response to potential mastitis.
LDH testing is a complementary, often earlier indicator of udder damage than SCC because LDH activity can rise before a large change in cell counts. LDH is generally less influenced by non-infectious variables like short-term stress or lactation stage, offering a reliable on-farm screening option that can reduce unnecessary lab tests.
Follow the included instructions for sampling, dipping, timing, and comparing the strip to the reference chart. Use clean sampling techniques to avoid contamination, dispose of used strips responsibly, and combine results with clinical signs or follow-up laboratory tests before making treatment decisions.
Who is this for? Bartovation Cow Milk LDH Test Strips are intended for dairy farmers, herd managers, veterinary technicians, and on-farm milk quality programs that need fast, affordable screening for subclinical mastitis. Ideal for producers who want routine cowside surveillance, quicker identification of problem animals, and a practical tool to reduce the time and cost of lab-dependent workflows.
Q: Can I use one strip per quarter or pooled milk?
A: Yes. Use one strip per quarter for targeted screening or test pooled milk to screen a cow quickly; follow instructions for sample type.
Q: Do these strips replace lab SCC tests?
A: No. LDH strips are a rapid on-farm screen; confirm positives with SCC or bacterial culture before treatment decisions.
