Back to the Roots 100% Organic Vermiculite is a lightweight, sterile soil amendment designed to improve moisture retention, aeration, and nutrient availability for indoor and outdoor plants.
Whether you’re starting seeds, refreshing potting mixes, or improving garden beds, this 24-quart value pack (three 8-qt bags) of premium horticultural vermiculite helps plants establish stronger roots and maintain steady soil moisture. Made in the USA and certified organic, the product pairs well with coco coir and perlite to create balanced, fast-draining but moisture-holding blends suited to a wide range of vegetables, flowers, and houseplants.
Vermiculite’s fine, spongy granules hold water and nutrients near seed roots without compacting the soil. That steady moisture reduces stress on emerging seedlings and supports even germination.
Yes — vermiculite increases the soil’s capacity to hold water while preserving pore space for air. Plants receive more consistent hydration, which can cut down on frequent surface watering, especially in smaller pots and warm indoor environments.
The vermiculite can be blended into potting mixes, incorporated into raised beds, or used as a top layer to reduce evaporation. It’s inert and sterile, so it’s safe to mix with compost, soil, or soilless media without introducing pathogens.
Back to the Roots organic vermiculite is produced to horticultural standards and packaged in a convenient value pack. Being 100% organic and made in the USA means gardeners can use it in edible gardens and school projects with confidence.
Who is this for? This vermiculite value pack is ideal for home gardeners, urban growers, classroom garden programs, and anyone who starts seeds or maintains many indoor plants. If you want an easy-to-use soil conditioner that improves water management, supports root health, and integrates seamlessly with coco coir and perlite mixes, this product gives you a reliable, organic option at value pricing.
