API Pepper is a white granular pool balancer designed for salt water systems to reduce scale and corrosion while keeping phosphate levels low.
Keep your salt water pool equipment running efficiently with API Water's API Pepper. This two-pound granulated formula works alongside salt chlorine generators and pool hardware to slow mineral deposits, support sanitizer performance, and help manage phosphate concentrations that can interfere with water clarity and sanitizer activity. Easy to apply and safe for typical pool surfaces when used as directed, API Pepper is intended as part of a routine pool maintenance plan rather than a one-time fix.
API Pepper reduces the formation of scale on generator cells by binding minerals that tend to precipitate at the cell surface. That helps maintain cell efficiency and reduces cleaning frequency, which can extend the cell’s operational life.
By helping keep phosphate levels low and minimizing scale, API Pepper supports the overall effectiveness of your sanitizer. Clearer water results when sanitizers can work without interference from organics or mineral haze.
Follow the label directions for dosing based on pool volume and current water chemistry. Add the granules with the pump running and distribute them evenly; avoid dumping concentrated piles directly onto pool surfaces to prevent staining or localized pH shifts.
When used according to instructions, the granular formula is compatible with common pool surfaces and equipment. Still, check your equipment manufacturer’s warranty and the product label to confirm compatibility and avoid voiding warranties from improper chemical use.
Who is this for: API Pepper is made for pool owners and service professionals who operate salt chlorine generators and want a preventive maintenance product to limit scale, support sanitizer effectiveness, and help manage phosphate levels. It's best suited for routine preventative treatment rather than emergency remediation, and for anyone following a structured testing and treatment schedule to keep pool chemistry balanced.
Q: How often should I add API Pepper to my salt water pool?
A: Follow label dosing and retest water after 24–48 hours; frequency depends on pool chemistry and phosphate levels.
Q: Is API Pepper safe for all pool surfaces and generators?
A: When used per instructions it’s compatible with common surfaces and salt generators; check equipment warranties and label first.
