ProTech 300 is a concentrated nitrite-based boiler water treatment that protects outdoor wood boilers from rust, corrosion, and scale when dosed per manufacturer guidelines.
Designed for use in outdoor and wood-fired boiler systems, ProTech 300 supplies controlled nitrite levels to create a corrosion-inhibiting environment for ferrous metals. One gallon (128 fl oz) treats approximately 300 gallons of make-up water, producing about 1000 ppm nitrite; dosing can be adjusted to reach recommended ranges for adequate to optimal protection. Use alongside regular water testing to maintain the right inhibitor concentration for your system’s materials and operating conditions.
ProTech 300 introduces nitrite ions that form a protective layer on metal surfaces, slowing electrochemical reactions that cause rust and corrosion. Consistent dosing keeps nitrite levels within a target range to maintain protection without over-treatment.
Start with the baseline dose—1 gallon per 300 gallons—to reach roughly 1000 ppm nitrite, then fine-tune based on test results and your boiler manufacturer’s recommended level. Regular water testing informs whether you need to add more inhibitor or simply top off to account for make-up water.
ProTech 300 helps reduce conditions that accelerate scale formation by stabilizing the chemistry of the boiler water, which supports more consistent heat transfer. It is intended as part of an overall maintenance program that includes monitoring and physical cleaning when necessary.
Store ProTech 300 in its original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Follow label directions and wear appropriate protective gloves and eyewear when measuring or pouring to avoid skin and eye contact.
Who is this for? ProTech 300 is intended for outdoor boiler owners, wood-fired system operators, and service technicians who follow manufacturer treatment programs and want to reduce rust, corrosion, and scale risks. It’s suitable for anyone who regularly tests boiler water and can dose treatment accurately by system volume—particularly those maintaining older steel boilers or systems that require nitrite-based corrosion control.
Q: How much ProTech 300 should I add to my boiler?
A: Add 1 gallon per 300 gallons of fill water to yield about 1000 ppm nitrite; adjust based on test results and manufacturer guidelines.
Q: Can ProTech 300 be mixed with other treatments?
A: Use ProTech 300 within the manufacturer's program; consult the boiler maker or tech support before combining with other chemicals.
